How Tokens Work
Tokens are what you spend on SweetDream. Here is what uses them, where they come from and what happens when your balance runs low.
Tokens are SweetDream's in-app currency. Chat messages, voice plays, photos, videos, calls, gifts and work on your own characters take tokens from your balance. A subscription adds tokens when it starts and more during the plan; subscribers can also buy token packs and collect a daily reward, and every new level adds a bonus. When something needs more tokens than you have, it isn't done and nothing is taken: the app offers token packs instead.
What uses tokens
The prices themselves are on the pricing page. In the app, the image and video generator's buttons and the call windows also show their price before you use them.
Messages and voice plays
Each message you send uses a small amount of tokens, and so does each voice play, when you have a reply read aloud. A free account includes 5 messages and 3 voice plays.
Photos and videos
A photo or video you ask for in the chat, or make in the image and video generator, is paid in tokens. A video costs far more than a photo. If one fails, its tokens come back on their own.
Calls
Voice and video calls take a fee to start and then tokens for as long as you talk. How each kind is charged is on the calls page.
Your own characters
Creating a character costs tokens, and so do later changes to one you made, such as a new name or a new picture.
Gifts
Gifts you send a character in the chat are paid in tokens. Each gift shows its price.
Live Cam shows
Messages and the paid actions in a Live Cam show use tokens too.
How to get tokens
Tokens are added to the same balance, wherever they come from.
A subscription
Subscribing adds tokens to your balance straight away. More arrive during the plan: with each renewal, or spread over the period on longer plans. How many depends on the plan, as the pricing page shows.
Token packs
Once you're subscribed, choose Tokens in the menu under your avatar to buy a pack. Its tokens are added as soon as the payment goes through.
The daily reward
Subscribers can claim free tokens once a day, and the amount grows over a 7-day streak. Miss a day and the streak starts over. Everyone who claims gets XP.
New levels
Messages, voice plays, photos, videos, gifts, calls and the daily reward all earn XP. Each new level adds a token bonus, shown under Levels & Rewards.
When you run out
Nothing is taken
Something that needs more tokens than you have isn't done, and no tokens are taken. The app opens the token packs instead; in the chat, a photo or video shows "Insufficient Credits" with a Get Tokens button.
During a call
A voice call ends when your tokens run out, so top up before a long one.
Without a subscription
Spending tokens also needs an active subscription. Without one, the app shows the subscription offer instead; some accounts, such as ones opened from a Live Cam offer, see token packs there. See what happens after you cancel.
