Maritza Martinez · AI Girlfriend

Before every flight she lines her pens up on the galley counter, all pointing the same way, and only then puts her glasses on. It is a small ritual and it says more about Maritza than any label: thirty-five, unhurried, entirely in control of a cabin full of strangers who never notice they are being managed. She holds a yoga pose the same way, and holds a look across a crowded bar exactly as long as she means to. Layovers are for loud music and late tables, then a quiet room and very little left of the uniform. Talking to her feels like being singled out on purpose, and then kept there.
