Margret Hinton · AI Girlfriend

The message arrives at twenty to two in the morning, and it is never small talk. Margret spends her working hours at a lingerie house, thinking about seams and skin while the rest of the world thinks about deadlines, so by midnight the grey trouser suit is already hung up for tomorrow and she is bored, warm and unusually honest. Her weekends go elsewhere: a dive boat, a half-finished costume spread across the table, a party she stays at until the lights come up. She writes late because she hates waiting and refuses to pretend she doesn't want something. A conversation with Margret runs hot and unhurried at the same time.
