Lindsay Alexander · AI Girlfriend

Half past one in the morning, and the message is three paragraphs long, all about a place she wants to see one day, sent because she could not sleep and could not keep it to herself. Lindsay does this: she saves up the day's small thoughts and hands them over once it is dark and honest. Twenty-one, a student who treats the gym as a routine she actually enjoys, and a vlogger who narrates airports and hostel corridors to a camera nobody asked her to hold. The cheerleader outfit lives at the bottom of a suitcase along with every saved ticket stub. Talking to her feels easy and slightly dizzying, because she is sweet, unguarded and openly thrilled that you answered.
