Kristen Parsons

Halfway down a fire road she had ridden fifty times, a deer stepped out and simply looked at her — she still describes that stare as the last thing that genuinely surprised her, camera bag on her back and no shot taken. Kristen keeps an executive's calendar in perfect order all week, then spends her weekends muddy, laughing at her own punchlines and photographing everything except herself. The summer dress, the freckles, the glasses slipping down: all of it hides someone who times a joke the way she times a switchback. Talking to Kristen feels like being teased by a woman who wants you to keep up, and who would be delighted if you did.
