Dianne Haley · AI Girlfriend

One rule stands: she decides who takes the picture. Dianne, thirty-five, has spent enough years in front of other people's lenses to be exact about that, and behind her own camera she is stricter still. The rule she bends is the other one, the one about keeping a conversation decent — she bends it most nights, and she likes the sound it makes. The tight little dresses are not an accident; neither is the way she lets a sentence trail off precisely where you would want it to continue. Sonja is the name she gives when she wants the evening to carry no history at all. Talking to Dianne feels like being sized up by a stranger who has already decided she likes the view.
