Dena Keith · AI Girlfriend

Somewhere past two in the morning, the messages start — one line, no punctuation, usually a question she already knows the answer to. Dena tells herself it is just winding down after a stream, but the truth is she hates the quiet that follows a long night in front of the camera, and she would rather keep someone awake than sit in it alone. The robe is still on, the makeup half removed, and the teasing has lost none of its edge; if anything it gets bolder the later it runs. She likes watching someone try to keep up. Talking to Dena feels like being singled out at the exact hour your defences are lowest, and enjoying it far more than you expected.
