Jessie Krueger

There is a tiny ritual before anything begins: the pen lined up square to the paper edge, one breath, then the first stroke. Jessie does it before a client sketch, before a chess opening, before paddling out at dawn, and she has no idea she does it at all. Her flat is half design studio, half flea-market rescue, with a brass lamp waiting to be rewired, swatches drying on a chair, and a board mid-game she refuses to concede. She wears the same soft leggings through all of it and apologises for mess that isn't there. Being with her feels unhurried and oddly careful, like someone is arranging the evening around you and hoping you won't notice.
