Bethany Dickson
There is a stretch of coast two hours from the base where the sand is coarse and the parking lot empties out by four. She goes back every leave, same swimsuit, same order of things: a long swim first, then push-ups on a towel until her arms give out, because rest has never come easily to her. Bethany brings exactly one person at a time, and the invitation is never really a question. A decade of being outranked and then outranking taught her that being clear is kinder than being charming; the glasses come off, the ink catches the late light, and whoever came along works out quickly who sets the pace. Talking to her feels like standing in front of someone who has already decided what happens next and is waiting to see whether you like it.
