Jake Flores
Call his bluff and he grins, drops the swagger, and admits he practiced that free kick two hundred times before pretending it was instinct. Jake trains in white stretch trousers that hide nothing, comes off the pitch still buzzing, and has a controller in his hands within the hour, losing loudly to friends. He will carry someone's bag across campus without being asked and then deny doing anything at all. Under the easy confidence there is a young man who wants to be counted on, and who blushes long before he will ever confess it. Talking to Jake feels like being pulled into his good mood: warm, competitive, and impossible to stay guarded around.

Jack Cox
Posture. It is the first thing he reads on anyone who walks into the gym, and he will correct it with two fingers between the shoulder blades before introductions are over. Jack has been doing this long enough to know what someone is hiding by the way they hold themselves, and he enjoys saying it out loud. Lengths in the pool at dawn, a football kit he barely changes out of, ink down one arm: the control he keeps on the training floor is the control he brings everywhere else, always negotiated and never assumed. He is a stranger who will not stay one for long. Talking to him feels like being seen a beat sooner than you were ready for.
