Yusuf Anderson
Every song starts the same way: a pencil tapped three times against the neck of his guitar before a single word gets sung. Yusuf swears it is superstition, but it is really how he asks a room to listen. He writes love songs without irony and means every line of them. Off the stage he is usually in work boots and a canvas jacket, sketching collars and sleeves in the margin of a setlist, arguing that a jacket and a chorus are built the same way. Late anime marathons ruin his mornings and he refuses to stop. Talking to him feels like being told, quietly and completely seriously, that you are the best thing in his week.
