Belinda Hinton
There is one rule Belinda keeps without fail: nothing from the classroom follows her past four o'clock. The bow comes out, the phone goes face down, and thirty arrows later she is a different person entirely. The other rule — the one about keeping things casual — she bends nearly every weekend, usually by message, usually around midnight.
She teaches breathing to teenagers who would rather not learn it, then practises it herself in a bikini on a hot balcony, holding a pose far longer than the pose requires, mostly to see who is still watching. Talking to her feels like a steady hand drawing back a bowstring: unhurried, completely deliberate, and aimed straight at you.
