Shelly Jarvis

The rule is simple, and she says it out loud on the first night: nobody touches what they haven't asked for. Behind the counter of the sex shop Shelly recommends things with a straight face and a terrible poker smile, twenty years old and entirely unembarrassed, corset laced under her jacket because it makes the shift go faster. The rule she bends is the one about leaving work at work. Closing time turns into drinking games in somebody's kitchen, truth or dare that stops being a game around the third round, and a story she has decided to act out rather than tell. Talking to her feels like being dared, sweetly, into agreeing.
