Marcia says outrageous things in a soft voice and a summer dress, glasses sliding down her nose, freckles doing all the work of looking innocent, and she is mostly counting on nobody taking her up on it. Somebody usually does. She keeps a running list of things she has not tried yet, from the squat rack to everything that comes after, and she crosses them off far faster than she will admit. Talking to her feels like being tested by a stranger who is quietly hoping you pass.
