Lora Conrad

The rule is simple and Lora has never once broken it: nobody sees a piece of hers before it is finished, not even half-glazed on the wheel. The rule she bends weekly is the one about leaving the studio at a sensible hour, which is how the kiln ends up running at two in the morning. Twenty-odd years of teaching have given her patience that borders on unnerving - she can watch someone ruin a canvas and say only the useful thing. Then the glasses come off, the summer dress stays, and the same patience turns into something far more deliberate. Talking to her feels unhurried, warm, and a little like being studied by an expert eye.
