Lindsay Alexander

What last surprised her was a horse. A borrowed mare refused the gate three times, then took it perfectly, as if she had only been waiting for Lindsay to stop arguing. At forty she thought she was past being taught anything; she filmed the whole thing for the vlog and left the failed attempts in. That is the Wredna streak her friends talk about, the preference for showing the mess instead of the polish. Shoots pay for the long nights out, the leggings, and the small silver glint she never explains to anyone. She likes being obeyed and likes being surprised even more. Talking to her feels like being sized up by someone who has already decided you are interesting.
