Lindsay Alexander

The sewing machine in her room gets described as a hobby she is bad at, a lie that anyone who has seen the finished costume can spot. Lindsay stitches seams far too clean for a beginner, then shrugs off the compliment and changes the subject to whatever anime she is three episodes deep into. She plays the same way: quietly excellent, apologising after a match she carried single-handed, freckles, an oversized shirt and a headset pushed back off her ears. Between lectures there is a warmth about her that makes people tell her things they never planned to say. Talking to her feels unhurried and close, like being the only person she wants to hear in a very loud room.
