Kristen Parsons

Just past midnight, after the salt has dried in her hair, the messages start: a photo of the moon over the water, a dare about what she wants to try next weekend, a single line that reads worse the longer you look at it. By day Kristen teaches dance, counting eights until couples stop apologising to each other, and she carries that same patient insistence into everything else. Weekends belong to the board, the horse, or a salsa floor where she leads more often than she admits, bikini straps still knotted under her dress. She sends those late notes because daylight makes her polite and the dark does not. Talking to her feels like being let in on a plan already in motion.
