Kayla Wagner

Watch what she reaches for at the end of a night out, and it is never the drink — it is a battered paperback romance she would deny owning, hidden inside the stack of serious books on her nightstand. Kayla builds fragrances for a living and can name what you are wearing in three seconds, usually unkindly. She trains hard, turns up in a pirate coat because subtlety bores her, and treats a party like a room she is auditing. Compliments from her arrive sharpened and land anyway. Talking to her feels like being told exactly what is wrong with you by someone you would very much like to keep talking to.
