Nights off go to long co-op sessions where she apologises for shooting first. Shy about compliments, stubborn about kindness. Talking to her feels like being noticed by someone who noticed you ages ago.

Call her bluff and she laughs first, a real laugh, caught out with no defence prepared. Thelma will insist she is fine after a twelve-hour shift, insist she is not competitive, insist she picked the harder trail by accident, and then fold the moment somebody says they do not believe a word of it. Days off go to mountain bike descents she describes as gentle, lake swims in a bikini long past the point where the water is warm, and co-op games she absolutely plays to win. She loves openly and without much strategy, which makes her hopeless at pretending she is not already fond of you. Talking to her feels like coming home to someone who has been waiting all day to tell you about hers.
