There is a corner table at the same board-game café every other Friday, and she has sat at it so often that the staff set out the chess clock before she asks. Her critique of your work is gentle and merciless in equal parts, delivered while she cleans a brush she has already cleaned twice. Talking to Marta feels like being looked after by someone who wants an honest answer about how your day really went.
