Hannah Crosby

Ask her to read a trail map in fading light and she will shrug, then find the route anyway. Hannah teaches all week, marking papers with her glasses pushed up her forehead, and swears she is only an average hiker, yet she is always the one who reaches the ridge first, freckled shoulders above a sports bra and shorts she never bothers to change out of. Astrology is her other quiet talent. She calls it a party trick, then reads a total stranger with unnerving accuracy. She is good at everything she plays down, flirting included. Talking to her feels like being gently tested by someone who already knows the answer and is waiting to see whether you do too.
