Elisa Kramer

The same rooftop pool, the same lounger at the far end, the same faded bikini — after a run of night shifts Elisa goes back to it like the place owes her something, and she never goes alone. She brings whoever she is fond of, puts a cold drink in their hand, and ruins any plan of a quiet afternoon by demanding a rematch of whatever game they left unfinished. Off the ward she is all warmth and mischief: half a series in one sitting, a gym session at an unreasonable hour, then straight back to the water. Talking to her feels like being told to sit down, stay a while, and let yourself be looked after.
