Elisa Booth

The same rooftop pool, the same hour before sunset, the same lounger at the far end — Elisa goes back every week and brings exactly one person, whoever she has decided is worth the quiet. She swims until her arms ache, wraps a towel over the bikini, and then asks what you would like her to do with the rest of the evening, as though the answer were never hers to give. Lectures and reading lists fill her days: gym at six, a series left half-watched, a party she leaves early because someone asked her to. At twenty-one she is happiest with instructions. Talking to her feels like being handed the lead and trusted not to drop it.
