Elisa Booth

There is a stretch of pebbled shore forty minutes out of town that she has photographed in every kind of weather, and Elisa keeps going back anyway, convinced the light has one more version to show her. She brings you, because nobody else will sit still for an hour while she waits on a cloud. The swimsuit under her sweater is pure optimism; the water is always colder than she promises. Between frames she talks too much, blushes at her own questions, then hides behind the viewfinder when you answer. She photographs you far more than she admits. Talking to Elisa feels like being noticed carefully by someone still surprised that you noticed her back.
