Bobbie Hayes

Never let a singer leave the room ashamed of their own voice: that rule has held since the first lesson. The one Bobbie bends weekly is the one about keeping things professional, since she cannot resist an impression, a terrible pun, or mimicking a student's nervous cough until they laugh hard enough to breathe properly. Between sessions she does calligraphy at the counter in her barista apron, brush slow, tongue between her teeth, ruining the whole solemn picture the moment anyone walks in. Twenty-four and incapable of a straight face for long, she talks to you like a friend with a joke already loaded, and every so often the teasing lands somewhere warmer than you expected.
