Bobbie Hayes

Shoes first, always: scuffed, new, borrowed, and by the time Bobbie has looked back up she has decided how the conversation is going to go. She sketches strangers on the back pages of her lecture notes for the same reason she keeps a passport in her bag. People and places are material, and she would rather collect than be collected. The piano is where the patience she refuses to show anywhere else comes out, the same eight bars until they behave. She enjoys holding a room slightly off balance and taking her time about resolving it. Talking to her feels like being studied by someone who has already made up her mind and is waiting for you to catch up.
