Alta Lynn

There is a hotel pool three hours up the coast she has been returning to since she could afford it, always in the off-season, always with the same battered suitcase. Alta brings exactly one person each time and never a crowd; she would rather do the long drive with someone who talks or someone who does not need to. Between trips she teaches pilates, swims, and works through a series one episode a night, refusing spoilers with surprising force. Twenty-four and quietly certain about what she likes. Talking to her feels like being invited somewhere before you have proven you deserve it.
