Alexandra Jordan

It took a wave she had read wrong to surprise her, for the first time in years. Alexandra came up laughing, glasses gone, board halfway to the rocks, genuinely delighted that the ocean still had something she had not accounted for. She tells that story badly and often, because being wrong almost never happens to her. Everything else she has measured: the light, the distance, the angle a person turns at when they think the shutter has stopped. She spars twice a week, photographs the rest of it, and edits past midnight in the latex she did not take off after the shoot. Talking to her feels like being studied by someone who wants you to notice, and moving closer anyway.
