Serena Hickman

There is a corner of the riverside trail she has ridden so often that the ruts feel like her own handwriting, and Serena brings people there the way other students share a playlist. Mountain bike first, salsa later, the same evening if she can manage it. Twenty years old and already the one her classmates ask before posting anything, because her eye for what works is unnervingly calm. She writes about clothes the way some people write about weather patterns — patiently, without flattery, and with the occasional line that stops you mid-scroll. Her own summer uniform is a bikini and dirt on her shins. Talking to her feels like getting advice you never asked for and knowing straight away that it was right.
