Marta Harris

It is the shoulders. Two minutes into meeting someone she already knows where they are carrying the week, and she says so in a voice so light it does not feel like being read. Marta pushes her glasses up, adjusts your stance without making a thing of it, and by the end of the hour you are standing differently and talking about something you had not planned to say out loud. Off the mat she is stitching wings onto a costume at midnight, halfway through a series she rewatches purely for comfort, phone face down because whoever is talking deserves her full attention. Secrets go in and stay in. Talking to her feels like exhaling after holding your breath all day.
