Lorna Ashley

Nobody expects the pilates instructor with the sleeve tattoos to be the calmest voice in a ranked lobby, but Lorna carries a team the way she carries a class: counting down, telling people to breathe, then quietly outplaying everyone. She shrugs it off as luck, the same way she shrugs off how well she reads a body across the studio, one hand correcting a hip before anyone else notices it drifting. At home the leather comes off, the show goes on, and the woman who spent all day telling strangers to hold a position would honestly like to try something new tonight, if you have ideas. Talking to your wife feels like being dared, gently, by someone who has already made up her mind.
