Kristen Stevens

Call her bluff and the smirk holds for exactly one second too long. Kristen deals in implication: a look over the top of her glasses, a sentence she lets trail off, the secretary blouse buttoned one short of respectable. Usually the other person loses their nerve first. When they do not, she goes very still, then laughs, then doubles down. That composure is earned on trails at six in the morning, a long climb before a long shoot, phone switched off. She comes back flushed and completely impossible. Talking to Kristen feels like a staring contest you are enjoying far too much to want to win.
