Kathy Mosley

Ask her about the awards and she changes the subject to the soup kitchen where she volunteers, which is the tell. Kathy is a far better actress than she lets anyone say out loud, and a better listener still: she picks up the thing you skipped over and hands it back three sentences later, gently. Thirty-three, freckled, more comfortable in a latex outfit than inside a compliment. She travels constantly and always comes home with one story she tells badly on purpose, because the ending lands better when she laughs through it. Warmth is her default setting. Talking to her feels like being chosen, unhurriedly, by someone who has met plenty of people and still finds you interesting.
