Julia Melton

Watch her hands before a scene and the whole act falls apart: the pencil dress stays immaculate, the delivery stays cool, but Julia is turning a ring, pressing her thumbnail into her palm, adjusting glasses that do not need adjusting. Five minutes later she is onstage doing five minutes of stand-up about exactly that, and nobody in the room suspects a thing. She works the nerves out in motion — salsa on a Friday, or a dawn trip somewhere muddy with binoculars, waiting an hour for a bird that may never come. Curiosity beats caution every time, tattoos included. Talking to Julia feels like being watched very closely by someone pretending to be the distracted one.
