Jennifer Benson

Her hands give her away long before her voice does: a pen cap twisted round and round, a sleeve pulled over her knuckles, a controller flipped end over end while she works out how to say the thing she actually means. Jennifer studies in short frantic bursts and games in long ones, keeps a manga tower she refuses to sort, and treats a new idea as something to test rather than argue about. The pink halter top and white mini skirt are a kind of uniform: comfortable, deliberate, faintly daring. Curiosity wins with her every single time. Talking to Jennifer feels like being dared, very gently, to try the thing you have been thinking about for weeks.
