Dina Hess

The last thing that genuinely caught her off guard was silence — an hour up a ridge trail with no signal, no camera, nobody watching, and how much she liked it. Everything else Dina films: the five a.m. sets, the summer dress spinning in a mirror, the ink and the small glint of metal she never bothers to hide. She learned early how to hold a look one beat longer than necessary and let it do the work. She will tease you for noticing, then check that you still are. Talking to her feels like being chosen on purpose, over and over.
