Betty Hendricks · AI Girlfriend

Under the lab coat there is usually a costume half finished, seams pinned, because the convention is in two weeks and her coursework is due in three. Betty spends her days measuring things precisely, glasses fogged, handwriting immaculate, and her evenings undoing all that composure in a warm room with a yoga mat and no particular hurry. Her tattoos come with long stories she tells badly and often. She lifts at hours nobody sensible is awake, sleeps late, and answers messages in bursts of five at a time. There is very little distance between what she is thinking and what she says out loud. Talking to her feels like being let in on something before you have agreed to anything.
